Christmas is fast approaching; are you still making room?
As the season presses in, are you still holding space to quietly wait and watch for Christ’s arrival? How might you stay with the anticipation in these last hours of Advent?
Pause to imagine yourself out in a wide-open place, saving room to be with God. You discover that He got there first (isn’t that so like Him) and is already waiting to be with you. How does your soul feel in that moment? What hopes are fulfilled in this space? What do you notice about this spacious place that will make you want to return to it again some time?
“…We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.” —Romans 5:1b-2 (MSG)
